When searching online it’s common to type “CBT Therapy” but the word “therapy” is redundant here because CBT stands for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.  To keep it simple, the rest of this article will state CBT when referring to this psychological treatment.

CBT is widely used in the treatment of mental health issues and is known as a “talking therapy”.

CBT works towards changing thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that are causing problems in someone’s life.  There are techniques to identify patterns and learn ways to facilitate change.  This is where the CBT therapy and the therapist come in.

The problems in a person’s life could manifest in different ways, e.g. depression or anxiety.  These mental health issues and others can be helped with CBT therapy.

Does CBT Work?

That’s a HUGELY subjective question.  CBT has been thought of as the “gold” of psychotherapy but there are differing views on that as seen on the NCBI (National Center For Biotechnology Information) article online called:  Why Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Is the Current Gold Standard of Psychotherapy.

So, not even the professionals cannot agree.  It is the nature of the beast.  When it comes to studies and research on the mind and any treatment or therapy for it there will always be opposing views.  Why?  No-one truly knows, for sure, 100% how it (the mind) all works.

Alongside the different views and opinions, both professional and otherwise you have the customer or client to consider when asking about the efficiency of CBT.  Therapy doesn’t work for everyone, for various reasons.  The client may just want to turn up to complain, or they are not honest about their issues or they drop out of the therapy entirely.

Be that as it may, CBT is being widely used and for some years now, which points to a level of effectiveness.  How well that is measured is unclear, nevertheless, there is evidence, as seen in the success stories and reviews given.

My Final Thoughts

Would I recommend Online-Therapy?  YES.  For all the reasons I’ve already given and in addition to these other benefits:

  • You can remain anonymous and choose a nickname, never having to reveal your real name if you don’t want to.

  • If you want or require a certificate after completing the course, email them and they’ll send you one.

  • You can download all videos and audios to work offline.

  • No App needed as their service is optimized for smart phones and tablets from anywhere in the world.

With any self-help service or product you will need to be willing to change and commit to do the work.  Remember, it took you your whole life up until this point to get where you are now. To get where you want to be will also take some time to get there, allow at least a month.  If not longer.  And you will get there.

Speaking of a month, Online-Therapy has 20% off for your first month.  This will drop the price to $28wk for the basic.
